We stayed at Lake Scott State Park in late June 2018 for one night after looking at cattle in the area and we were also on our way to Colorado. Beautiful place! The location for Scott Lake is in Sections 33 and 34, Township 17N, Range 2W, Willamette Meridian. The lake receives its water from a creek that comes out of Deep Lake. The creek is officially unnamed, but is referred to as Spruce Creek by the Millersylvania State Park. The creek that flows out of Scott Lake is officially named Allen Creek.Lake Winfield Scott is a beautifully secluded lake away from the more heavily travelled roads. At an elevation of 2,800' it is usually comfortable even in mid-summer and there is a small beach and swimming area as well as picnic area. This is off Hwy 83 about 7 miles down a gravel road. The road is well signed, & when it comes to a T go right. It's a mile or so further down. The road isn't too bad to drive. You can't see the rocks until you're about a mile away. Kansas is like that!
